When to edit a PDF

Frequently asked questions
Can I change the existing text in my PDF?
Not in this editor — it adds new text, shapes, and images on top of the page. To rewrite existing content, convert the PDF to Word first, edit it there, and convert back.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The editor runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF and your annotations never leave your device.
What happens to the original pages?
Nothing is removed. Your annotations are drawn on top of the untouched original pages, and everything is combined into a normal single PDF when you save.
Which languages can I type?
Any language your keyboard supports. Latin-script text is saved as selectable vector text; other scripts (Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hindi, and so on) are saved as crisp images of the text.
Can I undo my changes?
Yes — Undo and Redo buttons are in the toolbar, and the usual Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z shortcuts work. The last 80 steps are kept.
Is there a limit on annotations?
Files up to 100 pages and 50 MB are supported, with a soft guide of 500 annotations per file — beyond that, saving still works but may take longer.
