No. This tool reads the text layer of a PDF. Scans are images with no text layer — run them through our OCR tool first, then extract the text.
What's the difference between text and Markdown output?
Plain text keeps paragraphs and reading order without any markup. Markdown additionally marks headings, lists, and structure — useful if the text is headed for a notes app or a site.
Can I mark where each page begins?
Yes. The page separator option inserts a marker between pages, so long documents stay navigable in one .txt file.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
