How to remove PDF metadata

Review the findings
Only fields with values are listed, each truncated for display. An empty list means the file already travels clean and there is nothing to strip.

When scrubbing earns its keep
A draft leaves your machine and carries more than its text: the author field names the colleague who wrote it, the producer field names the software that made it, and the dates sketch the revision timeline. Before an anonymous review, a tender submission or a blind grading round, that trail has to go.

What exactly gets removed?
The eight standard information fields — title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, creation date and modification date — plus the embedded XMP metadata block when the file carries one.
Does this redact visible content?
No. Metadata only. To take visible text or images out of a page, use the redact tool, which rasterizes what you mark.
What about digitally signed PDFs?
Modifying any signed file breaks the signature, and this page is no exception. Scrub an unsigned copy; keep the signed original where the signature matters.
Why a separate page instead of the editor?
The metadata editor changes fields one by one. When the goal is «all of it, gone», clearing eight boxes by hand is busywork — this page does the whole sweep in one pass.
